Laser Cutting for Metals
Volunteer Metal Systems’ laser cutting system utilizes the latest advances in laser manufacturing technology to provide customers the ability for total customization of cut metal material. This system provides us a faster, more accurate way to precisely cut thin or thick sheet metal. Our laser cutting technology allows quick turnaround of end caps, valve covers, and gored elbows. Technological versatility combined with creative engineering offers cost effective solutions for special metal shapes, enclosures, chassis, brackets, holes, slats, tabs and protrusion patches.
Prefabricated Panels
Practically any combination of field-installed materials can be pre-installed in VMS prefabricated panels. Available insulation materials include mineral wool (4-10-PCF density) or fiberglass board (2.5-PCF density) in 2” thru 6” assembled thicknesses. Panel widths vary with selected laggings but typically provide 36” or 44” wide coverage. Any available lagging material may be selected. The backing layer is available in various forms and types of metals (including 2 x 2 welded-wire mesh).
Horizontal Panels
VMS’s horizontal panels are produced in 12” wide “flat-panel” form, in a variety of metal types, gauges, finishes, and colors. Panels may be produced to match and provide replacement panels for existing installations. Note that unlike typical profile siding panels, VMS’s horizontal panels are designed for “horizontal” applications (across stiffeners or subgirt supports).
Expansion Joint Covers
VMS offers pre-fabricated and/or pre-insulated expansion joint covers in a variety of metal types, colors, and finishes. Insulated expansion joint covers fully encapsulate, weatherproof, and protect shop-installed insulations. Insulation materials include fiberglass and mineral wool board in thicknesses and densities as required. Cover dimensions vary per end-use application but can be made to accommodate virtually any requirement.
Insulation Support Rings
Insulation support rings are used to hold the vertical load of pipe insulation and are routinely required in industrial and marine specifications. Without support rings, the weight of the insulation and the effects of vibration and thermal movement over time can cause the insulation to drift down causing gaps in the insulation system.
VMS produces pipe insulation support rings in sizes and configurations designed to fit pipes from 1” IPS thru 14” IPS. The rings can be fabricated with a variety of metals, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and other alloys as required by the specific project. These metals provide stable support for vertical installations of all types of pipe insulation material. Metal Mesh Blankets
Metal mesh blankets are made from preformed mineral wool insulation that is stitched to various metal facings. The flexible blankets are easy to cut, install, and form around curved surfaces or irregular shapes.
Widely used for insulating utility boilers, ducts, precipitators, tanks, expansion joints, cylindrical refinery applications, power and process equipment, and other industrial applications. Metal mesh blankets are a durable and economical solution for multiple applications where thermal shock and vibration are present.
Access Doors
VMS prefabricated insulated access doors are available in a variety of metal types, colors and finishes. Access doors, with fully encapsulated and weatherproofed insulation, provide personnel protection and protection against excessive heat loss through un-insulated doors in ducts and other high-temperature structures.
